Fukuoka Airport is considered to be a second class airport, with a lot area
of more than three square kilometers. Formerly called the Itazuke Auxillary
Airfield, it was the site of a former US Air Force Base before. It has 4
terminals, the first three dedicated to domestic flights and the fourth for
international flights. There is also a cargo terminal for freight
transport. Operations start at seven in the morning and ends at ten in the
evening to give the residents around it some quiet time to rest and sleep.
