George Bush Intercontinental/Houston Airport Reaps Financial Accountability Honors
The Houston airports (including the George Bush Intercontinental/Houston
Airport) which belong to the Houston Airport System were recognized by the
top credit rating agencies in the US for maintaining excellent financial
accountability systems. These agencies (which are the Moody's Investors
Service, Fitch Ratings, and Standard & Poor's) granted an A+ rating to
Houston Airport System member airports this August 2007. The rating from
these three agencies allow future investors to evaluate the type of loans
that the Houston Airport System airports can be given, as well as assists
in regulating the airports.
Aside from George Bush Intercontinental/Houston Airport, the other two
airports in the Houston Airport System are Ellington Field and William P.
Hobby. The Houston Airport System is not dependent on the local tax base to
fund its capital improvements, maintenance, or airport operations since it
is run as an enterprise fund.
Services of George Bush Intercontinental/Houston Airport
The people behind George Bush Intercontinental/Houston Airport plan to keep
pushing for the growth of this airport so that air travelers can enjoy
comfortable air travel under modern conditions. The airport present relies
on five terminals (named Terminals A, B, C, D and E respectively.)
Terminals A, B and C are home to the Visitor Information Centers, found on
the baggage claim floor.
Travelers can opt for either public ground transportation, taxi, or
limousine services by using one exit of the terminals, or to be picked up
by private vehicles through another exit.
The second level of the terminals houses the air carriers' ticket counters.
Other parts of the departure area feature lounges, game rooms, food courts,
and gift shops for added convenience to passengers who need to while away
their waiting time.
If passengers need to page someone, they can always use any of the white
airport telephones distributed throughout each terminal. There is a special
phone line for visually-challenged or hearing-impaired passengers as well.
The airport also has other amenities and services offered, namely:

Baggage carts can be used in the different parts of the airport at a fee of

bought retail products, or claimed or check-in items. But if you are an
international traveler who has just arrived at the airport, you can use the
baggage carts at no charge.
Another unique feature of the airport is that it has been operating an
Interfaith Chapel for those passengers who want to spend some time

since 1969.
With all these going for it, George Bush Intercontinental/Houston Airport
promises to keep air travel easy, comfortable and stress-free for its many
