Berry Field Airport - Nashville International Airport |

Berry Field Airport adopted new name of Nashville International Airport in 1988
Anyone who likes music has probably heard of Nashville but how many people
have actually heard of Nashville International Airport? It's not surprising
that many people are not aware that there actually is a Nashville
International Airport because there are just a handful of carriers that use
this airport. As of 2006, there were only 11 airlines serving the airport
with 424 average flights per day. Despite its relative anonymity, this
airport surprisingly has four runways which gives it leverage compared to
other airports which may have just one or two runways at the most. This
airport is located in the southeastern part of Nashville, in the state of
Tennessee.
Another reason many people may be unaware about the existence of Nashville
International Airport is that it only came by its new name relatively
recently in 1988, when international flights were added to its roster of
routes.
Facilities of the airport
Nashville International Airport presently uses only three out of its four
concourses, because Concourse D was shut down some time after the 9/11
terrorist attacks. Prior to that tragic occurrence, Concourse D was
initially meant to serve American Eagle as a ground level commuter terminal
but later American Eagle operations were shifted to Concourse C, which it
shares with American Airlines. Following that, Concourse D was also used
for some time by Corporate Airlines for regional flights.
Concourse A is presently being used by seven carriers, namely, United
Express (under Mesa Airlines and under SkyWest as well); United Airlines;
Frontier Airlines; Continental Airlines; Continental Express (run by
ExpressJet Airlines); Air Canada Jazz; and Air Canada.
Concourse B is the territory of seven airlines too. These seven are: US
Airways Express; US Airways; Northwest Airlink; Northwest Airlines; Jetblue
Airways; Delta Connection; and Delta Airlines.
Concourse C has 6 carriers under its wing - these being Southwest Airlines;
Midwest Connect (operated by Skyway Airlines); Midwest Airlines; American
Eagle; American Connection and American Airlines.
Lounges within the airport
If you are lucky enough to belong to the American Airlines Admirals Club,
then you're in luck at the Nashville International Airport because their
lounge re-opened just this July 11, 2007 to serve American Airlines
Admirals Club members.
It was shut down shortly after the 9/11 hijackings.
You can avail of special privileges open to members such as a full-service
cash bar; complimentary food and beverages; a T-Mobile HotSpot; and fast
Internet connection via two on-site workstations.
Another carrier which operates an airport lounge here is Delta Air Lines
which runs the Delta Air Lines Crown Room Club. Some services available to
members are a full bar; T-Mobile HotSpot; and satellite TV.
Airport parking available
If you are being driven to the airport or are driving your own vehicle, the
Flight Park parking facility at the airport can help you with your parking
needs. The Flight Park is readily accessible, being just four minutes away
(max) from the airport check-in point. Passenger pick-up and drop-off
points are completely covered, so you and your guests (if any) will be
protected from the elements.
