International Airport, but generally the former is the name more commonly used. Situated at eight kilometers east from the city of Palma de Mallorca, the Palma de Mallorca International Airport is one of the airports that is part of AENA or "Aeropuertos Espa�oles y Navegacion Aerea" translated as Spanish Airports and Air Navigation. Considered to be the third largest international airport located in Spain, it is also known as the Son Sant Joan Airport. Occupying a total area of about six square kilometers, it has four terminals, the first for domestic flights and the other three for international ones. With around twenty five million passengers handled ever year, the expansion and addition of other structures and facilities is being reviewed and considered.
