The Paris-Roissy Charles de Gaulle International Airport (CDG) is one of

the 14 airports managed by Aeroport� de Paris (ADP). Not only is CDG the most important airport of France and the main international gateway of the country, it is also the busiest airport in the entirety of Europe. Named after the founder of the French Fifth Republic, Charles de Gaulle, CDG is located in Roissy-en-France, a commune to the northeast of Paris. CDG is often referred to in France as the Roissy Airport. There are three terminals in CDG, and there are plans for expanding to a fourth terminal.

Ground Transport

The three terminals of CDG are connected by the CDGVAL, CDG's free automatic shuttle service. The CDGVAL also includes in its routes PX and PR, which are CDG's parking lots, as well as the Roissyp�le, the area beside Terminal 3 where the hotels and company offices situated in CDG are located.

Traveling to and from CDG is possible through various means. The urban rail network R�lease Express R�gional (RER) has two stations in CDG. One is the Paris A�roport Charles de Gaulle 1, found in the Roissyp�le and servicing Terminals 1 and 3. The other is Paris A�roporte Charles de Gaulle 2, which is in Terminal 2.

High speed rail service is provided by TGV (train � grande vitesse). The TGV takes passengers from CDG to many different destinations in France and to Brussels. Travelers going by coach can avail of the services of Air France coaches, which can take them from Terminals 1 and 2 to Porte Maillot and the Paris Orly Airport.

Three different bus services are available to passengers at CDG. One is the Roissybus service, running from Terminals 1 and 2 to the Place de l'Opera in Paris and back. The other is Noctilien, a night bus service to and from various places in Paris. The third one is the Airport Connection, a door-to-door minibus to the center of Paris, which is hired by reservation only.

Taxi service is provided by Alpha Taxis, Les Taxis Bleus and Taxi G7. Car Parks and Car Hire Each of the three terminals of CDG is combined with a covered car park of its own, which can be accessed to via a lift. There are two long-term parking lots, PR and PX, which are located a little away from the terminals but are connected to them nonetheless via the CDGVAL.

The rental car companies that hire out their services to passengers at CDG are Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National and Sixt. These companies have their own kiosks within each terminal. Hotels within the Airport CDG has only one on-airport hotel, and that is the Sheraton Paris Airport Hotel and Conference Centre, located within Terminal 2. Other hotels within the vicinity of the airport are Kyriad Prestige, Ibis Paris Charles de Gaulle A�roport, Hilton Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and Sofitel Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport Roissy. These hotels are made accessible from the terminal via shuttle buses.
