Paris Orly Airport - Top French International Airport no moreThe reason Paris Orly Airport is no longer the top dog among France's
international airports is because the nearby Charles de Gaulle airport has
been assuming more and more of the load for international flights.
Nowadays, Paris Orly Airport is responsible mostly for charter traffic and
domestic flights to French destinations, though over 30 carriers also rely
on it for medium-haul and long-haul flights too at present. |

The Paris-Roissy Charles de Gaulle International Airport (CDG) is one of
the 14 airports managed by Aeroport de Paris (ADP). Not only is CDG the
most important airport of France and the main international gateway of the
country, it is also the busiest airport in the entirety of Europe. Named
after the founder of the French Fifth Republic, Charles de Gaulle, CDG is
located in Roissy-en-France, a commune to the northeast of Paris. CDG is
often referred to in France as the Roissy Airport. There are three
terminals in CDG, and there are plans for expanding to a fourth terminal. |
