There are Moves to Declog Dubai International AirportDubai International Airport is currently the main international airport providing air transportation services to the biggest city in the United Arab Emirates - Dubai. The airport is also building the new Terminal 3. Both projects should result in the compatibility of the airport with the Airbus A380. Another project is establishment of two stations belonging to the Green Line of the Dubai Metro system within the airport premises. One station is to be set within Terminal 1, and the other will be housed in Terminal 3. The Dubai Metro system should be open for use by 2010.Existing services at the airportDubai International Airport maintains a free airport shuttle service to transport passengers from one terminal to the other. Terminal 2 is devoted purely to charter and business flights. If you need short-term parking services, head for Car Park A. Car Park B is for long-term parking only. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 have ATMs and banking services facilities within their buildings. You may also tap Dubai Duty-Free for their Internet access, banking and foreign exchange services. The post office in the vicinity of Gate 18 within the Sheikh Rashid Departures concourse never closes, while the bureaux de change booths by Gate 8, Gate 18 and Gate 22 also operate round-the-clock. The Sheikh Rashid Departures concourse maintains around 25 bars, cafes and restaurants to meet the food and beverage needs of travelers. Terminal 2 also has its own restaurants to serve passengers. Transportation services If you wish to rent a car from the on-site car rental companies, you can head for the Terminal 1 Arrivals Hall where car rental companies such as Thrifty, Sixt, Hertz, and Budget are located. Taxis are also available at this Arrivals Hall, on prepaid terms. In addition, you may arrange for limousine service if you wish also at the Arrivals Hall from the limousine service companies.If you prefer to ride a bus into Dubai, you need to head for the busstations which are located across from the two terminals.
