Singapore Changi International Airport has received multiple awards throughout its many years of operations. Though considerably younger than other international airports, Singapore Changi International Airport has consistently been able to secure a deficiency-free rating granted by the International Federation of Airlines Pilot Association due to the airport's ability to assure safe and efficient air transport services. In addition, Singapore Changi International Airport was deemed Best Worldwide Airport by Buying Business Travel Diamond Awards both in 2005 and 2007; Top Worldwide Airport by Wanderlust for the years 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005, and 2007; and Best Airport in Asia Pacific (according to DestinAsian) for 2 straight years in a row (2006 to 2007.)

There are presently over 80 carriers which use Singapore Changi International Airport to offer air transportation to over 180 cities in 50 countries worldwide. Services at the airport Singapore Changi International Airport runs a total of 5 terminals to accommodate the rapid growth of air travel needs by Singaporean and foreign passengers. Terminal 1 can serve 21 million passengers every year. Terminal 2 can process 23 million passengers. Terminal 3 is projected to have an annual passenger capacity of 22 million passengers after it has been finished by 2008. That terminal required an investment of $1.75 billion for it to be built. The Budget Terminal is supposed to annually serve around 4 million passengers who rely on budget airline services. Singapore Changi International Airport also has the distinction of being host to the first standalone luxury airport terminal in Asia - the JetQuay Terminal which aims to offer luxury air travel service under the most convenient conditions for its passengers.

When Terminal 3 has been completed, Singapore Changi International Airport is expected to have a total passenger handling capacity of 70 million passengers per year. But the Shopping City does not just offer great eating opportunities, you can also do your shopping at 160 retail outlets who offer a diverse array of products such as toys, specialty goods, lifestyle electronics, books and magazines, and sporting goods (among others.) Changi Airport Shopping City concessions in Terminal 1 operate from 6 am to 12 midnight, while those at Terminal 2 run from 6 am to 1 am. There are also certain shops which never close, for the convenience of passengers.

You can reserve a room at the Airport Transit Hotel in advance by contacting the Terminal 1 number (65) 6542 5538, or the Terminal 2 number (65) 6542 8122. Minimum hours charged per stay at the Airport Transit Hotel are 6 hours, with rates at $57.75 per hour. If, however, you simply want to take a shower and change clothing at the Transit Hotel at either Terminal 1 or 2, you will be charged $8.40 per entry (inclusive of shower gel, locker and towel.)
